Many other startups also rely on AWS, whose aggressive pricing and rapid deployment times have fueled its stunning growth. Amazon (AMZN) CTO Werner Vogels recently predicted AWS and its peers would both empower upstarts, and cause headaches for IT hardware giants selling high-end gear.

Cisco really isn't in the data center business, i.e., thousand and thousands of square floor space selling the hosting service. Business who use cloud based solutions still need routers and switches.
Cloud business is really taking something from one place and putting it somewhere else and then managing it.
The losers in this could be in the virtualaization end where less hardware and software is bought and setup.
It will really hit hard on IT folks. Here is where companies really win, the minimization of internal IT management. No WINTEL!!
It used to be that computers were centralized and folks used terminals to login to an account, what Apple referred to as Big Brother (1984). Then we got the PC. Now it looks like it's going back to centralized computing, especially if your boot OS is on the host machine., AKA UNIX variants.
