As Daniel Rice checks out of BlackRock (BLK) amid potential improprieties, now comes news that permabull Bob Doll - retiring from his active post at month's end - may have based his fund models on others' work rather than the proprietary models the firm claimed. Upshot: Investors may not have gotten the all-Doll strategy they banked on but a mix of off-the-shelf models.

  • Bob Doll is a lying shill for his pals on Wall Street and always will be.

He knows the game is up, that is why he is retiring.

Bob, take all those millions you collected from unsuspecting Americans and do us a favor once and for all....disappear!

  • Well said Archman. Just more proof that the amount of face time one gets on CNBC is proportional to one's ability to continually pump sunshine, hopium and overbullishness into stocks, without doing any real analytical work. I guess that's why Jeremy Grantham appears ever couple of years.

Again I just don't understand giving people like Doll any money to manage whatsoever.

  • My oh my...i hate to quote him, but Warren has always said 'when the tide goes out, you see who is swimming without any shorts'. Poor performance, pushed out the door....and now we get a glimpse of why!

I suggest we give Bob....oh, i don't know.....how's $35 Million sound? And wish him well for all of his labors. Poor guy.
