Friday, June 22, 2012, 5:54 PM ETChina Mobile (CHL) will soon begin ordering phones supporting the TD-LTE 4G standard, and hopes to launch a commercial trial in 2H or early 2013, says chairman Xi Guohua. It's added CHL plans to increase its network of TD-LTE base stations by 10x next year to 200K, a move that could pressure regulators to more quickly sign off on full commercial service. 4G baseband chip leader Qualcomm (QCOM) has an incentive to see a quick commercial launch, and so might Apple (AAPL).
