    Amazon (AMZN) will start to collect sales tax in Texas this weekend in what marks the first step as its new role as a tax collector in states where the company doesn't maintain a physical presence. The crucial question over whether or not Amazon will lose its edge with consumers from its long-time pricing advantage will now be played out.

  • I live in Texas and I will not as much from Amazon anymore, I will trade with companies direct where I do not have to pay taxes or shipping.

  • You can be assured that if Obama gets another term there will be a National Sales Tax on all internet purchases guaranteed that a percent will go to Fed purse and percent to go to States.
    16 trillion in debt, fees, etc. will sky rocket in every possible way

  • Why would Congress be against it (taxing www stores)?

    It seems like this is a win-win proposition for every constituency!
