Friday, June 29, 2012, 5:52 PM ETUltrabooks accounted for 15% of $700+ U.S. retail notebook sales in May, NPD estimates. That's up from less than 7% in January, and is evidence Intel's (INTC) costly efforts to boost sales of the MacBook Air-like Windows (MSFT) systems is starting to bear fruit after a slow start. However, NPD adds the ASP for ultrabooks was $885. While down $15 from April, that's still above Intel's targets, and far above a Windows notebook ASP of $510. (more)
