Ultrabooks accounted for 15% of $700+ U.S. retail notebook sales in May, NPD estimates. That's up from less than 7% in January, and is evidence Intel's (INTC) costly efforts to boost sales of the MacBook Air-like Windows (MSFT) systems is starting to bear fruit after a slow start. However, NPD adds the ASP for ultrabooks was $885. While down $15 from April, that's still above Intel's targets, and far above a Windows notebook ASP of $510. (more)

  • I like this one! Some say Intel may go to $50, I own a lot now, should I buy more? Looking for growth as the dividend is not to impressive in my opinion!

Thanks for any opinions, positive or negative!

Intel's real strength is its manufacturing prowess, which is at least 1.5 generations ahead of the nearest competition (and by "competition" I mean manufacturing companies that own and run fabs, like TSMC and Samsung).

  • With this premise, I assembled a synthetic long. I sold 3 Aug 25 Puts, & bought one Oct 27 call. If William is correct, the call should be worth at least $3 or more if it occurs sooner than Oct.
