Microsoft is in more danger than is commonly perceived . . . while they start much stronger than RIM, the sequence of events look quite similar. The cash rich company, the "unassailable" position in business, the management team from the '90s, the inability to ship on time while "more agile" competitors (that's how none other than Ray Ozzie described them) lap them.
Very robust companies can survive a lot of mistakes, but sooner or later they have to start getting something right.
I guess when you're the 800 pound gorilla, you just don't think it's possible that anyone can overwhelm you...
