Monday, July 9, 2012, 6:28 PM ETFacebook (FB) is seeing declining activity among U.S. users, according to a Pac Crest survey. 39% of respondents said they post status updates, down from 45% in a prior survey. 27% said they've posted less about themselves over the past 6 months, compared with 12% who said they've posted more, and the percent sharing photos fell to 44% from 57%. Too bad FB can't be a way of enhancing simple e-mail as a means of keeping in touch with family and friends, via pictures, etc., which is the only reason that I subscribed in the first place. But along came further greed and the infamous IPO....
But even with the "social" part of what's posted and regardless of how much I love my "friends" (2 digits in number total and that's a stretch), who the heck cares about what your thrice removed cousin had for lunch yesterday?
Ah....the age of narcissism increases by the virtual minute.
At the same time, FB content has gone south big time. People just aren't using it anymore.
FB seems to be dominated by a few spammers on single-issue annoyances.
