And, just wait until both finally merge into one, as planned years ago. Pad, phone, sketch, Siri, GPS, Apple TV, music, etc.......all in one device. That one WILL take over the world!

We will then probably have to say ......"Klaatu Barada Nikto" or some such password to get it to deign to talk to us mere mortals. (Or maybe........ Steve Barada Nikto? oo...oo...oo...oo...as in Twilight Zone).

I don't see any reason to expect iPads to surpass iPhone sales. Almost everyone in the US has a phone, so the natural 1st step into mobile is to go to a iPhone or Android phone. As far as I can tell, the expansion in Asia has been the phones not the iPads. What is the mechanism for Wolf claiming all of this will shift?

I have MS OS laptops and Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone. I have been evaluating tablet computer for the last 6 months. Up to date, I have not been able to convince myself that I need a tablet. It is the same with many of my friends and colleagues.

When I am at home or office, laptops serve all my needs. When I am away from home or office, my smartphone pretty much serves all my needs. Whatever I could not do on the road can wait until I get home.

I believe smartphone market will grow much faster than tablet, especially with the variety of sizes available with Android phones.

You can leave your mp in your pocket and talk via bluetooth

I'm kinda like Odin, not sure I see the need for the iPad with my laptop at home (and I like keyboards) and my iphone mobile, that's all I need right now. I don't see the need another (expensive) device.

Although . . . I love AAPL stock and wish everyone would buy as much apple gear as they can.

My iPhone is a small iPad with voice capability... a mini-pad with voice capability will be a larger iPhone.

Mini-pads, that is no voice capability hence "pad", will cannibalize those who solely use their iPhones for data access and not voice and want a still portable but somewhat larger display. How much of the market they make up I can't say.
