Tuesday, July 17, 2012, 8:15 AM ETRoyal Dutch Shell (RDS.A, RDS.B) says it doesn't "believe there is any basis in law" for the $5B fine imposed by Nigeria for the Bonga oil spill late last year. The leak at the 200K bbl/day Bonga field was Nigeria's worst offshore spill in more than a decade and resulted in at least 40K bbl/day of oil spilling into the ocean.
