Friday, July 20, 2012, 10:23 AM ETVolatile A123 Systems (AONE +17.2%) rebounds all the way to $0.82 after reaching a deal with China's Ray Power Systems to supply a 2MW grid energy storage system. Though 2MW may not sound like much, Ray Power proclaims the deal will "validate the technical capabilities" of grid storage, and A123 is hopeful it will open up new opportunities in China. Selling energy tech in the country has its risks, as American Superconductor and Maxwell can vouch. (previous)

My point: Although the Chinese have relaxed that behavior to some degree, I wouldn't expect the floodgates to open for AONE in the country without a lot of political influence. And that seems pretty weak these days.
So, in you logics, it is Aone who should be named as copycat!
I onced worked in Advanced R&D Dept. of HQ of A123, so I belive I know much more than you, even what you believed to be core secret.
If you know a little more about this company's history, If you know their early impressive products are made by Chinese companies such as BYD and Lishen ; and if you know a little more about how many big U.S companies such as Google, Apple, are charged by their competitors with claims of "copycat", you should feel shame for your arrogant racism view.
To be honest, the real leaders of battery manufacturing are Japanese companies, and even korean companies are not bad. NO Chinese will be stupid enough to copy from the dwarf.
As China continues rising as an industrial power, no doubt this characteristic will change with it, or is changing. But it is neither xenophobic nor racist to point out that, again on the whole, China is not at the level of other nations. You even point out that Japan and Korea are the betters in energy storage.
You still need to clarify your claim that A123 built their products or business on Chinese technology. For example, did A123 surreptitiously acquire this manufacturing technology? Did they form a partnership or venture? Was there any business arrangement of any kind? Unless the first is true, it is NOT a copycat situation as you claim. It is a business situation.
