Walgreen (WAG +1.5%) shares move up after WellPoint (WLP) says its members will regain access to WAG pharmacies in mid-September, now that the drugstore chain has reached a new deal with Express Scripts (ESRX). WLP is ESRX's largest client, so the move could help WAG as it tries to recoup customers it lost starting Jan. 1 when it broke ties with ESRX.

  • I suspect that WAG has lost a fair number of customers that it may never get back. However, this news should help a bit. Overall, I think WAG is still a good company. My wife and I are long at a 3.5% YOC and plan to hold unless the dividend stream becomes uncertain.
