    Covidien (COV +4.4%) is trading higher today after beating FQ3 bottom-line estimates by a penny. Sales gained 2.8% to $3.01B, which was in line with consensus, but net earnings fell by 15% Y/Y as the maker of operating-room gear and other medical products deals with challenging conditions in Europe.
