The SEC and Department of Justice are considering starting an investigation of the retail sector for possible breaches of the anti-foreign bribery law, Reuters reports. The deliberations follow allegations about Wal-Mart's (WMT) practices in Mexico, and after other unnamed retailers reported possible offenses by their employees.

  • And yet no investigation into the DoJ and other federal agencies for giving guns to Mexican drug cartels (some of which were later used to kill American law enforcement officers). Funny how the priorities at the Obama DoJ work.

Of course, they don't have time to prosecute John Corzine either. I guess they don't want to bother him while he's fundraising for Obama.

But American companies trying to do business in other countries? Yep, the Obama DoJ has plenty of time and resources to go after them.

  • With all the BS that went on in this country and is still going on and they are all revved up about some bribery in a country where it is impossible to business without it. A smoke screen to hide their ineptitude at prosecuting or uncovering extreme fraud and book cooking in our own economy.

  • Just more wrong-headed direction from our president and his stooges. I would appear that the current direction is fairness for all the US like, say, Cuba. In Cuba no one has any prosperity at all excepting the castro brothers and the politbureau but - it's the right thing to do.
