    The GOP and Democrats are in talks to extend government spending levels for six months when the fiscal year ends on September 30, a move that would avert a government shutdown just before the elections. However, the sides plan to leave the negotiations over avoiding the "fiscal cliff" for the "lame duck" session after the elections.

  • Never put off until tomorrow what you can put off for several months or years or decades. Would be nice to see the entire spineless lot of them march off a damn cliff.

  • So they are basically agreeing that they are all cowards and inept.

    They should also announce that none of them are running for re-election.

    And if the president had any type of backbone he'd veto whatever was sent over and demand the Senate fulfill its constitutional duty and pass an actual budget. And if they fail to do so throw Harry Reid in jail on charges of treason.
