Enbridge (ENB) plans today to replace a section of an oil pipeline in Wisconsin that leaked Friday, though it still does not have a restart date for the artery carrying Canadian crude to the U.S. Although the spill appeared to be relatively small and quickly contained, it comes at a delicate time for Enbridge, whose spills in Alberta and Michigan are branding it with a BP-of-the-Midwest reputation.

  • "BP of the Midwest" is silly, and most importantly, inaccurate.

Enbridge isn't a driller but a carrier. Problems with their pipelines, and the oil spilled, has been minuscule compared to the volume of oil carried. The few spills that have happened have been quickly contained, with no environmental impact.

How about just reporting the news, and keeping the intern comments to the break room?

  • Important catch of the driller/carrier mistake. Also BP likewise has caused no environmental damage to the Gulf.
