    Rains over the weekend and more forecast for this week are helping send the grains lower. Much of the damaged corn crop is beyond repair, but beans should see a benefit from the water and cooler temperatures. New crop corn -1.4%, New crop beans -2.6%.

    The corn crop was already completely lost, and the soybean crop is still far below the water level that is needed in order to see anything close to decent production.

    This is worse than you understand if you think that a 0.2-0.8 inch singular rainfall event makes the problem go away.

    Agreed. I laugh when I see these kinds of stories. Obviously, whoever is writing them has no understanding of ag.
