  • the miss is inconsequential. no investor with any sense is worried about making 9 cents vs. 6 cents.

more important is the potential. as nat gas becomes a transport fuel, we'll see pricing power. in the meantime, it's all about positioning, and the market likes the increase in production more than the 3 cents missed on earnings.

and when icahn and his boys get done cutting costs, expect real value in this company. less mclendon and more icahn is a good thing.

  • The stock market has never been for "sissies". Either it was a good investment or a "gamble" to begin with. Measure who you are, "smart" or "lucky".

  • when looking at earnings per share , one must realize that one time profits and trading product in the future market provided about a billion in profits. that money will be tax free and used to offset debt.
factor in the poential promised selling of more assets this year will produce the required cash to place chk in a great position.
factor in about 83 millon short stock in to a 600 million outstnding share, in total, gives one the thought what happens if wall street decided chk is a fair investment?
remember, this stock does not require or justify the very high volume it does each day. this means it is, and has been ,in play for someone with big money.
if we do not tank the stock at this time..meaning tomorrow, then it appears the worst scenerio is in the open and the future looks promisiing to me.
i am long the stock with no plans to sell at this time.
i see the key at hitting 20 again as the tip off for a move to the mid twenties.
finally, keep your eyes on the price of natural gas .when it hits over three bucks again, it will be a positive for chk.
