Peter Kafka observes the current YouTube iOS app doesn't support ads or carry music videos (most of which run ads). With YouTube's ad revenues taking off, and its mobile video leadership unquestioned, Google may have decided it's worth letting the iOS deal lapse in order to offer a monetized YouTube app through the App Store.
