Amazon (AMZN) faces increased competition from clothing start-ups at one end and eBay (EBAY) at the other. The start-ups cut lots of middle men and make items to order to avoid needing warehouses, and so can undercut even Amazon. eBay tells retailers it can help them compete by putting store fronts on its site, with [[RSH], BKS, and GNC doing so.

  • This is pure ignorance. ....i deal in this space and our ebay volume is a negligible fraction of Amazon's. Ebay has several structural issues that preclude it from being a factor and imo will continue to be a hurdle for Ebay for the forseeable future. Clothing startups affecting Amazon.....are you serious? Merely nipping at the seat of their pants in that category perhaps but nothing material. Puns intended.
