Sunday, August 12, 2012, 2:59 AM ETRIM's (RIM) plan to offload NewBay, which it bought for $100M in October 2011, is part of a strategic review in which the company intends to sell other non-core assets as well, Reuters reports. NewBay stores media such as photos and videos on its servers and sends them to Internet-connected devices; RIM bought the firm as a part of an attempt to increase revenue by persuading carriers to use its services for messaging, content delivery and analytics on all smartphones.
