    Iraq tells Total (TOT) to "freeze or cancel" a contract with Kurdistan or sell its 18.75% stake in the Halfaya oilfield in Iraq. Last month, Total followed Exxon and Chevron into Kurdistan - with which Iraq is in a dispute over land and oil rights - with the purchase of a 35% holding in two exploration blocks, ignoring Iraqi warnings about punitive action.

  • And it begins ! Iraq makes first real move to take the oil from the Kurds ! If China allows the Iraqi to renegotiate the Kurds will lose all the oil to the Government and the US will not step again !
