Micron (MU) CEO Mark Durcan predicts NAND flash memory prices, clobbered earlier this year, will begin rising in early 2013. Investors in Micron and rival SanDisk (SNDK) are hoping production cuts and new smartphone/tablet/ultrabook launches will keep prices healthy in the interim. Durcan is less positive on DRAM - he expects DRAM prices, hurt by slumping PC demand, to be soft near-term (previous) after rallying in 1H.

  • Of course prices will rise and everything will be rosy...next year. It's gonna be one heck of a year if all of these companies' predictions of greatness comes through. Fat chance of that happening.
