Bottom line for Royal Dutch Shell [[(RDS.A]], RDS.B) from the U.S. proposal to open up 12M acres of Alaska's National Petroleum Reserve for oil and gas drilling: If you don’t get the 2012 go-ahead for Arctic drilling, it’s your own fault. Shell’s plan to drill in the Chukchi Sea has been held up by a delay in winning approval for an oil-spill barge that's a required piece of safety equipment, Ken Salazar says.

  • That is choice! The gov. has been holding up drilling for at least 4 years, probably more, through various agencies and by not specifying requirements to allow drilling. And now, suddenly, they want to blame others/say "it's not my fault". Typical - always blame someone else instead of taking responsibility for one's own actions.

When will someone step forward and be truthful, be fair, be balanced and clearly state the facts. We are headed in the wrong direction with the blame game...
