  • Sum of the parts is clearly worth more broken-up than they are together. Orchard Supply (Preferred and Common), SHOS, Lands End, and SHLD. All in my brokerage. Thanks.

  • Micah,
It's all good but if you don't have a lot of Sears stock you really aren't making out that well.
The money maker will be what Lampert does after all the spin offs are done.

  • It appears that Lampert's plan with the spin offs are to receive the revenue from the spin off itself and then the fees, etc. being paid from the spin off companies to Sears Holdings.

Hense, getting a continuing stream of cash flow after the spin off from the comanies to invest and asset allocate.

    Genius

  • Don't forget about Sears' service business doing all the service work for the appliance stores owned by Sears and franchised.

Sears Holdings again are : Retail brick and mortar (profitable stores)
    Online Retail
    Service
    Brands Licensing
    Real Estate Business

  • What I think is great, is that it wasn't 6 months ago that I was reading comments on how the moves made from Mr Eddy Lampert were "huge mistakes" and how "Sears is done as a company." Now all I am hearing is praise and ingeniousness on his part. I really wish the best for him, the people investing with him and through him. He wouldn't have gotten as far as he has, if he wasn't as bright of an investor as he is. Best of luck to him and those around him.
