Monday, August 27, 2012, 5:14 PM ETSome notable partnerships announced on the first day of VMware's (VMW) VMworld conference: 1) Cisco (CSCO), in spite of tensions with VMware, will be making "joint engineering investments" with the company, and will integrate its switches and servers with VMware's virtualization and management software. 2) Parent EMC's Avamar data protection software will be bundled with VMware's virtualization software - that's a potential negative for SYMC and CVLT.
