Monday, August 27, 2012, 7:28 PM ETGeneral Motors (GM) appears to be halting production of its Volt, at least temporarily, in the wake of disappointing sales. The plant that manufactures the hybrid sedan is slated to stop production for about four weeks in September and October. Sales of the hybrid sedan haven't met management expectations, selling just over 10K cars in the U.S. versus expectations of 45K through year-end. Shares -0.5% AH.

One would do well to explore how many units the Prius sold in its initial few years by example.
If you make a car that only those in Washington DC or NY can afford to buy, guess what... They made for the Volt for Obama and his friends, I guess he needs more friends.
I wonder how many people do a background check on the companies, and people that provide goods and services for them, and determine if their "values" align with the common good - prior to making a purchase.
Car parts come from all around the world, I'm guessing some parts or raw materials in your car come from some socialistic and even communist countries.
Well, you go to market with intent.
And then you get disappointed.
And buy something else.
It's happening to me.
Also, parts and manufacture are less relevant than where the profits end up. If they stay here - as in you buy American - its better for the domestic economy.
How many ad dollars per car sold is that for those very irritating Volt ads?
