Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 11:45 AM ETDeutsche's Brian Modoff is encouraged by the expansion of Cisco's (CSCO) partnership with VMware (VMW): he thinks the tie-up demonstrates VMware's networking virtualization solutions (courtesy of Nicira) won't fully eliminate the value-add delivered by Cisco's switches and routers, as many have feared. He also sees VMware's new cloud management solutions and related partnership with F5 (FFIV) creating a barrier to entry for F5's application delivery controllers.
