"The 10,000-square-foot (3,000-square-meter) store, opening Sept. 1 in the shopping mecca known as Chicago’s “Magnificent Mile,” is three times larger than the average of the company’s 2,300 retail outlets."
Oh, dear! It looks like the author of this dropped out of elementary school arithmetic before getting as far as square measurements.
The average AT&T store is a booth in a shopping mall, for what it is worth, so I imagine they now have a property in the Windy City large enough to walk in and shelter from the wind.
AT&T size has actually harmed their customers as top management focuses on quantitative instead of qualitative metrics. A bigger retail store does not matter as much as a bigger customer experience. Just ask an Apple customer.
