Wednesday, September 5, 2012, 9:41 AM ETOracle (ORCL) will continue supporting H-P (HPQ) servers running on Intel's (INTC) Itanium CPUs after a judge ordered the database giant to do so in early August. Oracle says its Itanium software will be released on the same schedule as software for IBM's high-end Power CPUs. Thanks largely to Itanium's share losses, H-P's Business Critical Systems unit saw a 16% Y/Y sales drop in FQ3. H-P has already shifted it high-end server R&D focus away from "Itanic" to Intel's Xeon CPUs.
