    China is ramping up the stimulus as it seeks to boost its slowing growth, disclosing plans for 13 highway construction projects, nine sewage-treatment plants, seven waterway schemes, and five port and warehouse projects. That's on top of the 25 subway projects China announced earlier this week, and takes total spending to 1T yuan ($158B).

    The rings of the "New Deal" type of spending spree. It would be far better to have a "manhattan type" project on energy. China should take the lead on finding a more sustainable source of energy.

    WHAT an embarrassment to the USA (A Yale professor speaking at a 2007 Stanford University Cn conference emphasized that fact on renewables-- specifically solar. Personally, I haven't seen that leadership translated into actual usage in Beijing nor Shanghai. Maybe it is an export)!

    Wind and solar are just not viable in terms of efficiency and yield.
