The DOJ adds a bit of class warfare to its allegations of "gross negligence" against BP (BP) over the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, accusing the company of trying to pin the blame "exclusively on blue collar rig workers and other contractor/defendants - but at all cost, not upon BP management." The accusations were revealed yesterday in previously redacted sentences in court documents.

  • This is entirely in keeping with the profile of the Obama regime. Obama's Marxism places perceptions of 'class' at the root of everything. It is reflected in the shape of the current Obama presidential campaign.

  • This is nothing more than an election gimmick and a bargaining chips from DOJ to get more out of BP in a probable settlement. DOJ knows very well that any court action would mean years of litigation and long delays in aids to be given to affected states who stand to receive up to 80 percent of the fines imposed.

  • I'm afraid it's worse than that. Reuters is reporting that "sources close to Attorney General Eric Holder report that General Holder was furious with BP. 'Not only did the BP one-percenters target blue- collar workers--they went after our people as well.' Those close to General Holder know that nothing gets up his dander like an attack on his people, and the Civil-Rights Division swung into action."

  • Or maybe the executives atBP really did try to blame the workers, while they were culpable as well. This is obamas fault, everything is obamas fault.

  • BP made a mistake but because of deep pockest is being punished the most. DOJ settled with the blowout preventor company for only millions. Is that not the problem in the first place. Obama rides in a gas guzzler and thinks nothing of it. I am a retired shareholder of BP and am now be punished be the DOJ. Nothing else.
