Friday, September 7, 2012, 12:22 PM ETGlaxoSmithKline (GSK -1.6%) says it plans to open an R&D facility in China to research traditional Chinese medicine. The company will attempt to develop modern drugs based on the traditional treatments. Zang Jingwu, SVP and head of R&D China says "Traditional chinese medicine is a well-established system of medical practice developed through thousands of years of empirical testing and refinement of herbal mixtures, and relies generally on clinical experience."
