IDC estimates EMC's share of the external disk storage market rose 180 bps Y/Y in Q2 to 30.4%, and that its software growth of 7.4% outpaced the 0.9% growth seen by the overall market. NetApp's (NTAP) external storage share fell 70 bps to 12.1%, though that's an improvement from recent figures. CommVault's (CVLT) software sales rose 21.4%, as the company continues to gain share in the backup software market.
