The latest example: Oclaro (OCLR) is developing more advanced ROADM line cards for optical networking gear, with the goal of better competing against JDS Uniphase and Finisar (FNSR), who have already moved in this direction. Finisar recently bought Red-C, a maker of amplifiers for use in ROADM line cards.
