More from Mark Zuckerberg: He once more claimed a Facebook phone doesn't make sense, in spite of rumors (I, II) that it's building one. He also mentioned Facebook is handling 1B queries/day, and suggests Facebook will eventually build a search engine. Many have called on Facebook to enter the search market, and Microsoft (MSFT) execs reportedly once floated the idea of selling Bing to Facebook, only to have Zuckerberg turn them down. Should Google (GOOG) be worried? FB +3.2% AH. ZNGA +2.9%.

  • Facebook is so yesterday. I deleted my account many annoyances and invasions of privacy ago.

  • Good for you John, I wish I could get past the peer pressure and delete my account as well. As for the article. I don't think Google has anything to worry about. If bing didn't hurt it, FB certainly wont. After all, most people access FB via mobile, and who is going to launch FB to open the search, when they could just use google. Also google couldn't hurt FB with +, why would FB search be any different.

  • I was so happy when I learned of the Facebook IPO, as I have always been one of the doubters and haters and couldn't wait to short it. Everyday I hear of more people quitting facebook over the recent upsurge in ads, not to mention the privacy issues.

  • As you probably know, when people like Zuckerman break wind, the stock of their company goes up.

  • I am a little new at this sort of thing, but I wonder if we really need another phone on the market. Don't we have enough.

  • Time to short, boys! Although the chart does look painfully bullish.

  • make sure to not divorce technical analysis over reality. first of all, there isn not even close to enough public time-line to establish a market worth for FB, and the banks screwed this one with their fragmentation and greed.
you cannot apply trending analysis to an IPO. You need, IMHO, at least a year of data to determine any movement forecasts.
also, the fact that within 6 months, billions of more shares are going to hit the market is pure common sense. i dont call that bullish - i call it foolish.

  • Any company that has users so hooked that they get congratulated for breaking away is a winner. I bought 1,000 shares on that comment :-). This is a 2 year hold.
