Friday, September 14, 2012, 12:30 PM ETCalifornia AG Kamala Harris has launched an investigation into whether hospitals in the state are violating antitrust laws by using their growing ties with doctors to increase prices. The probe doesn't appear to focus on doctors' reimbursement rates, but targeted at hospitals that have recently begun to acquire a larger number of physician practices, such as San Diego's Scripps Health and Sharp HealthCare, and Northern California's Sutter Health system.
