    Even as hotels rebound in metro areas, sluggish business in smaller cities is dragging on the industry. Earnings are up at Marriott (MAR) and Wyndham (WYN), but chains may not be able to raise prices until late 2011: "New York City is skewing the numbers."

  • Not sure if MAR and WYN are the culprits, but to me this is the result of overbuilding. It seems like every other highway exit in Kentucky has at least one 100 room hotel. Worst of all they continue to keep building.
