Personally waiting for WP 8, and the surface tablets. We need to see how they are received.
Until then I think range bound, I'd buy if it dips below 28$
But if W8 and WP8 fail hardcore we could def see 25$, just in panic which would be an awesome time to buy.
Raising a dividend a large % then having to cut it; is much worse then small incremental raises they know regardless of market outcomes they can support.
And as of today's prices, MSFT is returning 2.95% ... CSCO returning 2.87%.
and this is a MS market current anyways....
I am glad to get the increase to the dividend, but am also glad that MS is keeping their cash at hand to use in the tech war they are about to declare.
As for intc, berkshire dumped it because intc became overvalued. At $25+, intc was not a good deal. The p/e of all these mature companies that pay dividends hover around 9-10. To suddenly jump up to 13 based on analyst upgrades and future quarter guidance was a trap. How quickly the market forgets how poorly intc is at predicting future earnings. Thats why some companies have chosen to not give numbers at all.
You should have smelled the bs when intc was talking up itself when they gave estimates that were 2.50+ for 2013....you have to wonder how they can pull that off....it just didnt make sense given the global economic problems and dell and hp telling us that they are hurting. The signs were there, but the market got euphoric (what else is new?)....so suddenly the company that was left for dead, its stock jumped almost 40% in 3 months.
(Off topic, take a look at BAC, which has also jumped 40% in 3 months....gotta watch out for these stocks....they can kill ya)
As for msft, I dont know if I should cash out of my $7 profit (which took 3 yrs) or sell 2014 covered calls.
oh well, 15% will have to do.
