    The rapid-fire drop in oil futures has the shares of airline companies racing higher on margins optimism with a fresh round of fare increases sitting securely in their back pocket. As is often the case with fare hikes, Southwest Airlines stuck its toe in the water before the rest of the sector jumped in. Advancers: UAL +8.6%, LUV +1.9%, JBLU +4.2%, HA +3.3%, SAVE +6.5%, ALGT +3.5%, DAL +4.7%.

  • Omitted is LCC up 8-9% today. I have to admit i never saw the bottom falling out of oil. I dumped HA, LCC and DAL heading into QE3 and looked like a hero at 4pm Friday. Today, not so much.
