Waste Management (WM -3.4%) is downgraded to Underweight from Neutral at J.P. Morgan, which says industry conditions have become more challenging due to declines in recycled commodity prices and its exposure to spot electricity prices. The firm also says a lower cash flow outlook cuts into WM's ability to increase dividends or buy back shares.

Keep beating the price down, I'm a buyer.

  • WM is a core holding in my portfolio. I don't see America's need for trash disposal as a declining business. If construction picks up there then trash volumes will increase as well along with WM's profits. I see this as another buying opportunity for a solid stock paying a dividend that is twice the yield on the 10 year Treasuries.
