Friday, September 21, 2012, 4:15 PM ETAT&T (T) accounted for 68% of U.S. iPhone 5 pre-orders from Sep. 14-16, estimates comScore. Verizon Wireless (VZ, VOD) is believed to account for 24%, and Sprint (S), whose stores are apparently selling out of iPhones, just 8%. AT&T benefits from having a much larger iPhone base, and comScore cautions Verizon grew its share of iPhone 4S orders over time. But the numbers are still encouraging for Ma Bell, given fears Verizon's superior LTE coverage would help it take share.
