However, Reuters is now reporting the companies are discussing a deal in which Sharp would supply LCD panels for ultrabooks. Sharp's IGZO display tech, which reduces power consumption for high-res LCDs, could appeal to Intel, which has invested heavily in ultrabooks and hasn't seen great results so far. Sharp, which could use some cash, rose 5% in Tokyo today.
