Tuesday, September 25, 2012, 5:41 PM ET"I think we have a clear shot at being the No. 3 mobile ecosystem in the world," proclaims Research In Motion (RIMM +4.8%) CEO Thorsten Heins following his developer conference remarks. That's not exactly what RIM was shooting for a few years ago, but at this point, outpacing Windows Phone would be enough to satisfy Wall Street. Some think BlackBerry 10 gives RIM a chance, but far more are skeptical. Twitter had a field day mocking a YouTube video aimed at developers.

Third place, in a market as huge as smartphones and mobile computing, would be just fine for anyone buying this stock at $7.
He is just doing what he has always done best: babbling some hot air. He doesn't want to realise that it takes much more than putting an allegedly superior OS onto a piece of hardware to have a clear "shot at being #3".
