Thursday, September 27, 2012, 9:41 AM ETNokia (NOK +2.1%) announces its Lumia 920 and 820 Windows Phones will be available in Europe in November - all signs point to a U.S. launch happening around the same time. In spite of Nokia's need to win back smartphone share, the 920 will cost more than Samsung's flagship Galaxy S III. The 920 will carry an unsubsidized price of €599 ($770) in Italy, above the S III's €530 ($681). (dividend plans)

Thinking the i5 costs more than the SIII too.
Point is you have a new techosphere with win8 that is not all the bad Andriod apps
Well of course it will, what else would you expect from the best phone on the market? I would buy Lumia 920 even if it was $1000. The U.S. got Lumia 900 practically for free, it's about time to put prices higher and pay for quality.
The questions isn't is the Lumia 920 better than the Galaxy III, the question is does the Galaxy III meet the majorities needs while having an affordable price. This is how Android has dominated the market, a variety of phones at a variety of prices and abilities.
That being said I'm still positive on Nokia, they are so far in the dumps that even a decent showing of sales on the new line of mobiles should boost the stock price close to $4 and give it support there as well.
If Nok is trying to capture the pent up demand at high prices then they better keep the prices high or risk a PR Nightmare (which they seem particularly good at creating even without money involved).
I'm not saying the price is wrong, I just hope they have accounted for the fact that as the underdog people don't trust them, forget feature phones for a minute forget their long history of success. The only thing that matters is this moment, and they risk losing greatness over 100-200 a handset.
No, but in Finland the 64GB version is 899e. I couldn't stop laughing.
reliability, know the world over. The US market is just one of many.
Plus down the road the price will come down as volume increases.
Google teardown of Samsung Galaxy S3. It's a samsung build - making heavy use of flimsy plastic components. Not much different than an HTC or Hwawei build.
There's a reason behind Nokias superior build quality that leads to their "lasts forever" reputation.

They were generally very impressed with the performance. Things are looking better for Nokia.
Do you REALLY think that Nokia will sell more 920s than Samsung sells Galaxy S IIIs?
I look forward to revisiting the answers in June 2013.
No numbers are out yet. So why try to guess. Lets wait for Quarter 4 results to come in and then we can see how well or how bad it sold. By quarter 1 2013 we will have a better overall picture of the health of Nokia as a corporation
At least the same trend seem to continue: Where-ever there has been a Lumia launch, ALL Android phones have been left behind (remember Lumia 900 on AT&T, Lumia 800C on China Telecom, Lumia-line in MTS Russia?).
This time is different: even iPhone 5 is behind Lumia 920

For now, no plans are available for Lumia 920, for 900 you can subcrive a plane for free phone.

I now hope that North America will have a decent look at the amazing Lumia device.
Go give your opinion on stock you believe in and stop writing your useless frustrations about Nokia. It is annoying.
Also if you could provide evidence that grey is the second most popular colour for Nokia phones in Russia (given the choice of a colour palette), please provide.
