Thursday, September 27, 2012, 10:55 AM ETAfter meeting with Samsung (SSNLF.PK) execs, Google's (GOOG) Eric Schmidt provided a more spirited defense of the top Android licensee's legal fight against Apple (AAPL) than what Google provided following Apple's California win. "Patent wars prevent choice, prevent innovation ... With respect to Apple patents, the best thing we can tell there are plenty of prior arts." But Schmidt, who probably doesn't want to see Google's iOS search deal go away, still called Apple "a very good partner." (previous)

"Riding the fence is always good strategy"..... probable quote by Eric Schmidt.

Worry about the leftovers of your communist heritage.
Patents prevent the choice of stealing, and encourage innovation.
Bear in mind some of these CEOs are still kids in terms of maturity. And the greedy advisors surrounding them are mostly in arrested development.
I recall one decided he liked Warren Buffet when he grew up.
It's their work force that creates all the results. Even Eisenhower and Churchill would have lost the war without Britain and America and Russia and all the Allies.
Duhhh . . . that's why they're called patents
They are designed to prevent choice - that is - free choice
Some call it infringement or stealing,
Free ? No
License Yes
Because eventually, the golddigger is going to cheat on you, steal from you, and take half your stuff.
For the stealing & cheating: currently, Samsung is already developing (copying) a divergent path of Android, that they will brand as their own OS. Samsung will have its own Android flavor, like Amazon, which they will use to partner with Baidu and other services in China.
By the time Google realize it's being cheated on, Samsung will already have what they want: an OS of their own to partner with the asian search engines and services.
In this light, Googles android enterprise is a house of cards. Currently Google is paying a ton of cash to develop android, and selling android hardware at a loss. Anyone could take android and develop a competitive platform and keep all the customer data for themselves; like Amazon did, and even Facebook or Yahoo could do.
And what about Google's rejiggering of the Java api's so that they could screw Oracle out of Java license fees? Please. This is stealing, not competition.
And yes, as Eric Schimdt is right, Apple has been a good partner to Google. But Google hasn't been a good partner to Apple.
Schmidt screwed Apple when he was on their board and decided to develop Android after being privy to Apple IOS development for iPhone- what a betrayal.
Apple needs to go nuclear on these guys
Another example of Google, Samsung and Android cadres pathetic attempts to discredit Apple - please, if you have a better product, then marketing should target the aspects of your product that actually make it better, not constantly target Apples products and do it in a disingenuous and dishonest manner like this.

Now, that's Gangam style.
Interesting.
So... don't file any patents. Einstein didn't.
