    Fixing a broken heater by smashing the thermostat, a European ban on naked purchases of sovereign CDS contracts goes into effect on November 1. Trading volumes in the once-robust iTraxx SovX Western Europe Index have collapsed to nil ahead of the ban.

    This will simply shift funds elsewhere. I doubt it will have any impact on sovereign bond yields.
