Details are scant, but the product sounds like a potential rival to Oracle's (ORCL) Big Data Appliance, a high-end system aimed at a booming market for solutions that analyze huge corporate datasets. Like Oracle's high-end hardware, IBM's PureSystems gear combines server, storage, and networking capabilities in one costly box.
