The British government is looking for guarantees that British government jobs and BAE plants in Britain will remain following the proposed BAE Systems (BAESY.PK) and EADS (EADSY.PK) merger, and it's ready to veto the deal if it doesn't get them. Additionally, it wants to ensure that the defense business is based in Britain with a British chief executive.
