Energy XXI (EXXI +2.6%) pops higher after announcing its first horizontal well had the highest oil rate ever produced in the West Delta 73 field since its discovery in 1962. EXXI also acquires shallow-water Gulf of Mexico assets from ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) and enters into a JV with XOM to explore for oil and gas in the Gulf.
