Monday, October 1, 2012, 2:25 PM ETSynaptics (SYNA -4.7%) falls on a downgrade to Sector Perform from Pac Crest's John Vinh, who thinks the touchscreen controller vendor has lost significant Chinese smartphone share - MediaTek is named as a beneficiary. Also, Vinh is worried in-cell touch panel shortages, along with Apple's (AAPL) 1-year exclusivity deals with LCD suppliers for in-cell panels, will affect Synaptics' in-cell controller sales. Rivals Atmel (ATML -0.9%) and Cypress Semi (CY -0.6%) are also lower. (Needham downgrade)
